Holding Time

Larnaca, Cyprus

The beach in Larnaca felt unusually still that day. Summer in Cyprus is rarely like this — cool air, heavy clouds, a quiet rain drifting in from the sea. The kind of weather that slows everything down. Almost asks you to stay present.

They came with their two Labradors. Older now, slower, but deeply woven into their everyday life. This wasn’t about a photoshoot in the usual sense. It was about time. About holding on to moments while they are still here — walks by the water, familiar movements, the simple comfort of being together.

Nothing was staged. The dogs followed their own rhythm, stopping when they needed, leaning in close, staying near. The couple moved around them naturally, adjusting without thinking. There was laughter, then silence. Wet sand under bare feet. Fur damp from the rain. Hands finding each other without effort.

The weather gave the story its own tone — muted colors, soft light, a quiet intimacy that felt honest. No bright sun, no drama. Just presence. Just real life, unfolding as it is.

I photographed this session with care and restraint, knowing these images would become something more over time. Not just memories of a day by the sea, but a reminder of love shared — between two people, and the dogs who have walked beside them for so many years.

Some stories aren’t meant to be loud.

They’re meant to be remembered.
